Summary: Rental process through app was easy. The property check-in process was all electronic. Now the good stuff, I loved the virtual pamphlet for the house rules and neighborhood amenities. There is also a printed pamphlet with this information available at the property. The house is across from the beach with a shoreline and a docking area and the views from the porch and balcony of great of the water. The home even has a ton of beach accessories, chairs, beach bags for renters to enjoy while away from home. Plenty of dish ware, pots, pans, , plates, silverware for cookers and cooked meals. Now, the not so great aspect for my winter vacation in Maine (near Canada)! Cold! When I checked into the home the interior was freezing (it was maybe 49 degrees outside). The property is equipped with Nest technology that resets to maintain 60 degree temp throughout the downstairs. The home is 3 stories of living space and the temperature is controlled using TWO thermostats. My group (except the people on the 3 rd level due to in room heaters) froze in the house (especially the master bedroom) the first night. Apparently, the second thermostat is located in a non-master bedroom above the headboard and not the hallway or the master bedroom. We froze again on the third night as the Nest kept kept resetting to an eco temp of 60 degrees with 30 degree daytime temperature weather outside. The home has two formal living room and neither fireplace works (electric and wood burning) because the electric wouldn’t stay lit and the wood was closed off! Nevertheless, property manager was responsive with request. They even sent maintenance to the home on day two (after we discovered the second thermostat in the bedroom! When the house is warm, it’s warm but sheesh it never stayed cuz of the auto adjust feature of Nest. Property manager apologized for our winter wonderland and advised of a credit to my account. I have yet to see the credit to my account but the offer was kind. All in all, wonderful, spacious, and accommodating home and owner. I will stay again but only in the summer. I will offer this piece of check-in advice for wintertime renters. Someone should enter the property and disable auto schedules on nest systems prior to check-in and help out the renters by firing up the furnace so the renters won’t freeze waiting for such a large dwelling to heat up! Thanks for your home and you will enjoy this property just not during wintertime.
