Beach Quarters is located on the south end of the 3-mile beachfront Virginia Beach Boardwalk. Enjoy outstanding Oceanfront views of the Boardwalk, Beach, and Atlantic Ocean from your unit and balcony.
There is an Oceanfront rooftop swimming pool on the 7th floor. Guests also have access to a well-equipped Fitness Center, a rooftop Tennis Court, and a children's Activity Center.
THE SPACE
This is a 1BR/1BA Continental unit that sleeps up to six (6) persons.
This unit at Beach Quarters has a Kitchen space with Full Size refrigerator, Stove top with 2 cooking plates, Dishwasher, Microwave, Coffee Maker, Living Room area w/Queen Sleeper Sofa, Dining table with side chairs, and a separate bedroom with 2 Full Size beds. And of course, you have a direct oceanfront balcony to enjoy with your coffee in the morning or beverage of choice in the evenings.
*** Please note the Kitchen space in these units has a Stovetop with 2 cooking plates, but it does NOT have an Oven. The Kitchen space is larger than a Kitchenette, and has some Full-sized appliances, but it is a smaller space than a typical full-sized Kitchen. The Kitchen space here at Beach Quarters might be best described as a 3/4 Kitchen. Hopefully the photos provided of the Kitchen space area help in understanding this detail.
*** These units are about 495sq ft, which is definitely a larger space than an average hotel room, but a little smaller than some other 1BR/1BA units. Although rated to sleep 6, in my opinion that would depend on how many children are in the group. I think it's probably best not to have more than 3 adults, or maybe 4 adults maximum in these units. Otherwise, it might start to feel a little bit cramped for space with only 1 bathroom. Although this can also vary depending on how much time a group plans on actually spending inside their unit during the day.
ADVANTAGES OF STAYING AT BEACH QUARTERS
Beach Quarters is an Oceanfront property that can be booked at a price point that offers good value for a family friendly budget.
There are some excellent dining options within a short walking distance from your unit, including the very highly rated Waterman's Surfside Grille located right next door to the property. Or if you want something more casual Roma's New York Style Pizza and Italian is directly across the street located in the Ocean Key Resort building. Mahi’s restaurant is a block away and has a nice outdoor dining / seating area. There are also a number of additional restaurants nearby or located at the Marina / Rudee's Inlet.
During the evenings at or near many restaurants along the boardwalk and surrounding areas you can enjoy live music from various artists and performers.
OLDER PROPERTY - UNIT INTERIORS
Since this property was originally constructed in the 1980's, the property overall is a little dated. Hopefully the photos provided give you a general understanding for what I am describing.
Virginia Beach is an extremely popular beach destination, and this resort is very popular because of its Oceanfront location sitting right on Boardwalk, near the Inlet and Marina. However, that means these units receive heavy traffic during the summer months, so you could encounter some wear and tear in the unit you are assigned.
Most families enjoy their annual vacations at this property, and don't have any complaints. However, if you are a traveler that requires more upscale accommodations, this may not be the right choice for you. In that case you might be better off booking a more expensive listing at a newer property. If you have any specific questions on this, please don't hesitate to ask.
GUEST ACCESS
This is a Resort Hotel property. Guests will have their own private unit, but resort Amenities (Pools, Hot Tubs, Gym, Tennis Court, etc) will be shared with other Guests.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
- Primary Guest checking in must be at least 21 years of age with a valid ID and credit card for security deposit. Your security deposit will be returned to you after Check Out if you have not made any charges to your room.
- Beach Quarters is professionally managed and operated by Hilton Resorts. The Front Desk is staffed 24/7 for Check-In, Check-Out, and is available for any questions, issues, or need for assistance during your stay.
- Please note that once you Check In and get access to your unit, if you encounter any issues or concerns regarding Housekeeping, Maintenance, etc…please contact the Front Desk / Office IMMEDIATELY. The staff members on-site provide the best opportunity to get any concerns resolved in the fastest and most efficient manner.
- Please strongly consider the trip insurance option offered by AirBnB.
- You are guaranteed an OCEANFRONT view 1BR/1BA (sleeps 6) with a balcony, just as depicted in the photos. However, your specific unit location (high or low floor, etc) will be determined / finalized at Check In.
- Bedding linens, blankets, pillows are provided, as are bath towels. If you need additional items or want fresh bedding linens or towels during your stay, please contact the Front Desk.
- Although bedding linens, blankets, and pillows are provided, you may want to bring some of your own if you have a favorite pillow or blanket.
- If you plan on using the Sleeper sofa during your stay, I do personally recommend (if possible) bringing sheets, blankets, pillows, maybe even a mattress pad for the Sleeper sofa specifically, which can be turned into a very comfortable extra bed.
- Pool towels are provided for free, and they can be exchanged for fresh ones on an unlimited basis. However, if your family owns and likes the larger beach towels, I recommend bringing them, along with any other Beach Blankets / Beach Chairs / Umbrellas / Equipment, etc you want at the beach. If you don’t bring your own Beach Chairs, Umbrellas, Equipment, etc you can rent them on the beach out in front of the facility.
- There is no daily housekeeping provided. However, the Front Desk can provide a vacuum, or broom and dustpan, to use in your unit if you wanted it. Washers and Dryers are also available (at no additional charge) on alternating floors for guests to use if desired. If additional housekeeping is desired during your stay, it is available for an additional fee scheduled directly with the Front Desk.
- For trash disposal during your stay, there are trash chutes on every floor located next to the elevator banks. Just open the door and drop your trash bag down the chute. If you need more trash bags you can request those as well from the Front Desk.
- PARKING: One FREE parking space is provided per unit rental. Additional parking spots are available for an additional fee paid directly at the Front Desk. Please note that the Parking Garage at Beach Quarters was built 30 years ago, before the mega SUV / Truck trend took over the country, so it is VERY TIGHT for larger vehicles when trying to make turns going to the different levels. When we stay at Beach Quarters, we actually park our larger SUV across the street in the alternative overflow parking lot behind the Howard Johnson's. I strongly recommend this option if you have a large Truck / SUV.
- If you or any members of your family enjoys bike riding, I strongly recommend taking your own bikes (if you have the means to do so). Virginia Beach was designed with a special bike path along the Boardwalk to cater to bike riders. It's possible to use bikes as your main means of transportation during the week to travel up and down the Boardwalk, and around town. Remember to take your bike locks so you can lock up your bikes at the bike rack each night.
- There is a Virginia Beach Coupon booklet available pretty much everywhere in vending type machines along Atlantic Ave, including the Front Desk / Lobby at pretty much all the properties in VB. Here you can find some coupons that offer decent discounts on food, entertainment, and equipment purchases (like bike rentals if you are not able to bring your own).
- Before your arrival some information will be required to create your Guest Reservation. This includes the Name of the Primary Guest checking in, Address, Phone, and Email information.
- This is a timeshare resort but attending a presentation or taking a tour is NEVER required.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD
The Virginia Beach Boardwalk and surrounding area is unique among East Coast beach locations because it has many Oceanfront, Oceanside, Marina, and Bay dining choices, including many with outdoor seating. There are also live music venues all along the boardwalk in the evenings.
GETTING AROUND
If you like to ride bikes, you can park your car and almost not need it for the week as it is easy to travel the boardwalk on your bike. If you don't bring your own there are bike rental stations up and down the boardwalk, including one outside Beach Quarters.
There is a Virginia Beach trolley that runs up and down Atlantic Boulevard from 40th street down to the Marina below 5th street. This is also an effective way to travel up and down Atlantic Boulevard not needing a car.
