Summary: Making the reservation through VRBO was easy. Made final payment via VRBO, no problems. Less then week before arrival got a last minute email from owner stating that the attached rental agreement had to be signed prior to accessing the property. The sole reason for renting this property was that the listing stated and showed pictures of beach access to Lake Michigan. In bold letters in the rental agreement stated that beach access may or may NOT be available for our stay. Another line in the agreement stated that if for some reason the owner had double booked the listing they reserved the right to move us to another listing of their choosing. If we did not like the different location we were free to try, at 4 pm, to find something else for 11 people. I informed the owner that I paid a premium for a property with beach access and the rental agreement was unacceptable. Owner informed me they were having problems with VRBO listing and that beach access had been repaired and that the listing was not double booked. However I still did not receive check-in instruction. I received another modified rental agreement but by now my party was traveling and I did not have access to complete the rental agreement and still did not have check-in instructions. Owner finally provided check-in instructions without a signed rental agreement. All of this interaction made for a very stress time leading up to our stay, not know weather or not we had a place to stay. Once we gained access the property was very nice, very clean with plenty of room for my entire family. The only complaint for the actual property was the lack of WIFI which was stated in the listing as being available.
