Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Apartment was situated lakeside in the centre of Arona with a lot of light and a modern feel. Views were breathtaking. Shutters were perfect to keep out the light when sleeping. Kitchen was small but fine for us as a couple and the shared entrance hallway was clean and tidy. Smart TV with satellite options. Only a short walk from excellent bars and restaurants, train station only 10 mins walk away, and we even found two totally gluten free establishments which was great if that is a requirement (it was for us).

Negative: Kitchen was small and there was no oven or toaster (we actually bought a toaster). There was a hob & microwave but if you want to fully self cater, I would say the kitchen facilities are slightly limited. The major downside was that our apartment (& specifically the bedroom) was situated directly above a busy cocktail bar. The music from the bar & noise from patrons was very loud, particularly as there are outside tables directly below the bedroom. The bar is open until 1am or 2am every night (apart from a Tuesday) and the noise continued until 3am on some nights. For us, this meant we couldn’t relax into sleep and ended up using the fold down bed in the living room which was marginally better in terms of noise. Not an issue if you’re out until the early hours, but wasn’t ideal for a couple looking for a relaxing week away.

Summary: Great place, just a shame about the noise.
