Positive: The resort is set in the hillside above Benitses, a local town, which you can walk to through olive groves, with views of the sea. There are lots of great food options there (including one quite famous restaurant that was outstanding). The pool area is lovely and spacious with incredible views (and we could swim even in chilly weather since it's in a somewhat protected bay with hardly any wind). We found that compared to other Adriatic resorts, swimming in the bright sun was actually possible in April, which was fun. There is also a large indoor pool that is heated (but a little chilly!) that our child really enjoyed. The one-bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable and the balconies are huge with amazing views. They do play music in the pool area -- audible on balconies -- from morning 'til late night (one night it never turned off) -- which can get a little annoying after several days, but the sound proofing on the balcony doors is quite good so rooms are quiet. The views from the sea-view rooms are really spectacular. There is some noise from halls / other rooms -- nothing major -- but I assume later in season, when at full capacity, and when roof bar is up and running, that might be more noticeable. On the whole, staff was kind and friendly. We found Eva at the kids club especially sweet and wonderful. Our kid had a great time with her. The club itself is small and doesn't have tons for older kids--but somehow, she made it super fun for our 8yo, who wanted to hang out there for hours. Food was fine; the Greek restaurant was tasty, though a little expensive; Oribu and beach bar closed; bar food tasty but again fairly expensive. The breakfast was quite nice with ample selection.

Negative: We were really disappointed that there was construction work being done at the hotel for the entire week of our stay. This is a seasonal resort, so once it opens it really should be ready for paying guests who are there, obviously, for ocean views, relaxing at pool, and quiet time in rooms/balconies. It felt very unfair to be paying premium prices for a sea view room with ongoing construction (for a skybar that benefits future guests in May). The entire first 10 days of April they were installing the roof bar, which was incredibly noisy (we could not be in our 3rd floor room when they worked--I can't imagine the top, 4th floor). Often, the entire ceiling would be vibrating. On Easter morning (Sunday), we woke to hammering in our room -- quite early for us, as we were on GMT -- and listened to metal drilling or cutting for hours at the pool. They did try to cover it with music, but it was highly annoying. Worst of all, the staff was totally unhelpful about this issue. We inquired/complained multiple times and no one followed up, nor contacted us to tell us more info. Mostly, they just pretended it wasn't happening (no one would say what the plan was or how long it would last). The first time we called, we got a new staff member who was the most honest -- not trained yet to shuffle or deceive! -- who said, "Oh yes, that's the sky bar -- that will be all week, or a couple weeks." We were shocked and asked to speak to manager (especially after writing b4 stay to ensure a quiet room). But then she called back and said, "Oh, just a couple more hours today." Which was happy news. But of course she was right the first time: it was ALL week, including weekends, and no one we spoke to cared or could assist. It usually stops by 1 or 2pm, but that's a huge chunk of the day. We asked the pool manager, the pool assistant, reception... and then finally a manager, on last day (we got a "yes, sorry").

Summary: Lovely hotel and fun family time -- but a shame about the noise and disruption.
