Positive: Albi is a fabulous city. The cathedral, the walks by the river Tarn, the bridges, the history, the theatre, the cinemas, there's so much choice! The local cuisine is great. Take the 30 minute bus ride from the Gare Routière and, for 4 Euros return, explore Cordes-sur-Ciel. Cross the bridge and find Cedric Millet, a patisserie like no other. The studio we stayed in had a good sized balcony and we loved breakfasts with birdsong and the garden.

Negative: We arrived at the arranged time, having received a message from the host, Marie-Claude, to call her on arrival. When we phoned X4, we reached her answerphone. After about an hour, a neighbour managed to reach the host's husband who found Marie-Claude. We eventually got into the studio and realised that there was one bed instead of the 2 i had requested. Eventually Marie-Claude replied to my call and said that there had been a mistake and that she could offer us a whole house. By then, we had unpacked and it was getting dark so we stayed in the studio. Marie-Claude was very apologetic and the studio was OK, especially as we spent very little time in it.

Summary: Initially tricky but worked out well.
