Bear Ridge Manor is an 8000sf luxury Black Mountain/Asheville area estate nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This lovely private home encompasses over 10 acres at the top of the mountain at 3500 feet. We have a smaller second home next door in case you need room for extra guests. (Available at a discount for Bear Ridge Manor guests. VRBO.com/3279699 depending on the season).
The estate features glorious, unobstructed views in every direction, original artwork, game room, spas, home theater, equipped with the finest electronics, appliances, cookware, you can even arrive by helicopter to our mountaintop helipad from the airport (reservations required). Located 30 minutes from Downtown Asheville, 20 min from Lake Lure/Chimney Rock & 15 minutes from Downtown Black Mountain. Close to dozens of hiking, fishing, boating & recreational parks. Property Features
I. BEDROOMS (6 Sleeping Areas)
FOUR oversized Master Bedrooms on different levels.
Each master bedroom is furnished with its own bath, king size bed, luxury linens, 4k TV, Sonos music system, original artwork and unbelievable views.
The first master is on the lower level with its own bathroom, heated floors, automated Japanese Toto toilet, dual shower, seating areas, then extends to a second room with a full kitchen and north mountain views.
The second master is on the main floor (easily accessed from the garage/kitchen) & features an enormous his/her bath with shower, jetted tub, separate his/her toilets & sinks, large walk-in closet, seating areas, gas-powered fireplace, private screened-in patio, room has north, west & south mountain views.
The third & fourth master bedrooms are on the 2nd floor, with full bathrooms, and separated by long hallways & a 3rd floor crow’s nest/sitting area with balcony. You’ll feel like you’re on top of the world with views in all directions.
ONE Queen Bedroom
Beautifully furnished room with north and west mountain views, its own full bath, 4k TV and original artwork.
ONE Loft Area
Features two queen size beds in a separate sleeping area, with 4k TV, luxury furnishings and linens, original artwork with an attached full size living room. Living room features 4k TV, two queen size leather pull-out sofas and plenty of dresser storage. Shared bathroom is accessed in main hallway.
BONUS Sleeping Area
The main living room has a luxury leather couch that opens to a queen-size sofa bed. (located on same floor as the main floor master with no stairs).
II. KITCHENS (there are 3 of them!)
Main floor kitchen features top of the line Viking, Wolf & Samsung appliances, 6-burner gas stove, oven, speed oven/microwave, Sub-Zero fridge, fully automatic Jura coffee maker, toaster oven, matching service for 12 (dishes & flatware with back-up for guests up to 24), complete set of pots & pans, two sinks, kitchen island with seating, dishwasher, additional bar height counter that seats six.
Lower-level kitchen features a cooktop, microwave, dishes, flatware, mini fridge, with full sink.
Outdoor kitchen will knock your socks off. Features a screened-in patio with full living room, dining room that seats 6, wood-burning fireplace, full 6-burner gas range, built-in gas grill, full sink & mini fridge.
III. MAIN LIVING ROOM
The heart of the home features 15-foot ceilings, a large gas-fired fireplace & mantle, Steinway grand piano, seating areas, pull-out queen sofa bed, wonderful artwork & sculptures and a floor to ceiling wall of windows with unlimited mountain views, a surround sound system with 4K TV that turns into wall art. This is the ultimate family gathering area that connects the large open kitchen & dining room. The guest bath in the living room is the perfect touch with an automated Japanese Toto toilet.
IV. MAIN DINING ROOM
This gorgeous area has a wall of windows facing the unbelievable north mountain view. It features an oversized 10-foot wood dining table with enough seating for 12 guests. Amazing memories are made in this wonderful space looking out into the heavens.
V. ENTERTAINMENT
• Billiard Room features full size top of the line pool table with cues, ping pong conversion top, bar & seating areas with mountain views galore.
• Poker Room features poker table for six with chips and cards & seating areas. A variety of games for outdoors are available for plenty of family fun.
• Home Theater is fully equipped with Dolby Atmos surround sound, latest 4k laser projector with a 120” screen, six fully automated theater seats, bean bags & Playstation 5 game system. A dream room for kids and adults.
• Complete home indoor/outdoor Sonos audio system. The system can play throughout the home, including the entire outdoor grounds area for continuous sound wherever you wander—or individually control each room to your liking. The system also allows you to connect with your personal smartphone so you can enjoy your favorite playlists.
• Hot tub area is fully equipped with a luxurious 6-person jetted Vita spa, seating areas, lighting, music & luxury towels. Tub is drained and cleaned prior to each visit, filled with fresh mountain spring water (minimally treated with chemicals).
• Outdoor gas fire pit boasts amazing mountain & sunset views. Sit fireside while roasting marshmallows or just getting toasty while sipping wine & taking in all that nature offers. You’ll feel like you’re on the edge of the forest in a vast mountain range.
• Outdoor fireplace in screened-in porch with seating areas and 4k TV. More direct mountain views from the main level. You’ll feel outdoors yet are covered from the elements and protected from any critters.
• Enjoy playing music on the 6-foot grand piano facing breathtaking mountain views. This impeccably restored Steinway was built in the glory days of Steinway in 1925.
• Over 1000 sf of outdoor decking, featuring unobstructed mountain views in every direction, rocking chairs, seating areas and dining table for up to 8. You will spend every minute you can on the deck, a truly magical spot at Bear Ridge Manor.
• Get some exercise on the trails in the general area surrounding the estate, perfect for hiking & biking (at your own risk) or take a walk down the paved 1-mile driveway as the perfect workout routine. Up & down drive is about 2 miles, it’s a vigorous workout!
Entertainment Add-ons (not included in rental fees):
• Helicopter tours are available directly from the property at our onsite helipad right on the mountaintop. 30-minute to 2-hour tours are available for 2 up to 6 passengers. You can also create a custom charter to travel up to 3 hours from the house in any direction & travel with up to 6 passengers. Please inquire about 3rd party vendors for bookings.
• Fishing, swimming, biking, climbing hiking, zip-lining, The Biltmore Estate etc. Our nearby property manager grew up in the area and is available to provide information on 3rd party private tours. Please inquire at booking for pricing or create a custom tour with area experts!
• Private world-renowned chef available for bookings. We will fly in our celebrity chef from Miami, FL to fulfill your requests during your stay. Pricing and availability upon request and must be booked a minimum 30 days in advance. We also have access to local chefs with advance notice.
VI. GROUNDS
In the spring, summer & fall the grounds are bursting with seasonal colors in every corner. Florals & greenery provide enjoyment as each season evolves. In the wintertime everything is cut back & trimmed to perfection, leaving a beautiful color palette to enjoy. It’s fun to explore every corner of 11 acres on the mountain top.
There is a two-car garage for guest use, equipped with EV charger, with a connecting mudroom & washer/dryer. This is the perfect area to enter after a hike to take off your shoes or enter with groceries, shopping bags, etc.
There's high-speed internet through the property, but please remember we are in a mountain location so sometimes there may be disruptions.
Cameras located on rooftop and lower driveway are in place for security of the outdoor perimeter area.
Parking restricted to 6 cars on the property.
One basket of wood is complimentary; you may order more on site.
Please note trash fee may be incurred if you generate more than the 2 bins in the garage.
VII. GENERAL
All of the other rooms, hallways, closets, walking areas & spaces you discover will be pure delight. Each floor has an iron & board, each bathroom a blow dryer, each room a view, each room a sound system, each room a 4k TV, each kitchen fully equipped, the best linens, the best towels, each piece of furniture is hand-picked, a wonderful art collection throughout the home—and so on.
Standard rentals are 3 or 4-night minimums depending on the season. Some restrictions apply to special dates and holidays. Please contact host for inquiries.
VIII. PETS
WE ARE PET FRIENDLY TO DOGS, so you can snuggle up together next to the fireplace! Up to 2 dogs, preferably under 50lbs, non-shedding varieties that are well trained, well groomed & have trimmed nails. The house is deep cleaned & fully sanitized after each pet stay for those who might be worried that we allow pets. Please note that our pet fee is $250 for up to 2 dogs.

Summary: Our family of 14 spent 4 nights at this incredible property. (8 adults, 6 children and 2 dogs). We all travel frequently, and have stayed at rental properties in numerous locations, both domestic and internationally. We unanimously agreed this is the best property we have ever rented. The views were spectacular. The location was very private but still relatively close to the town of Black Mountain (15-20 minutes). The home itself was beautiful, and was - by far - the most lavishly appointed property we have ever stayed in. Every conceivable appliance was provided (all top quality), an abundance of fluffy towels, hand made soaps in each bathroom, projector screen TV with fully reclining theater seating on the terrace level, an unprecedented amount of food items provided, and even a dog run with a treehouse. (I never seen an OUTDOOR kitchen that included a SIX BURNER VIKING RANGE/OVEN.) The owner and property manager were extremely helpful, and even arranged a private chef for us last minute when our original chef was incapacitated. In short - book this property. You will not be disappointed.
