Zen Cottage is a sweet and relaxing little Cottage, located behind our 1927 bungalow. We are minutes from Downtown Asheville, in the beloved Montford Neighborhood. (Less than 15 minutes on foot!) Guests will have exclusive access to the Cottage and shared access to the creekside patio and fire pit out back. You'll also have access to the utility room in our basement where the laundry machines are located. We sincerely care about every detail of your stay, so we invite you to review our listing details fully, so you will be informed & prepared to enjoy our in-town oasis. Our space can be rented for 30 nights or more only.
Arrive to our adorable home and lush, landscaped gardens, and follow the stone path to the back of our home to find the entry to Zen Cottage. Inside, you'll find a comfortable living area with a futon, bistro table and a closet area for storing your belongings. The dining area flows into the efficient and well-equipped kitchen. You'll have everything you'll need to cook small meals. The unique bathroom is across from the kitchen it has a nice walk-in shower and a toilet. Please note there is no sink in the bathroom, so you must use the kitchen sink for washing up. There is a full length mirror in the bathroom, for your convenience. Take the ladder to the loft level for your cozy sleeping area with a comfortable, queen mattress.
Take in our beautifully landscaped yard by relaxing on the stone patio beside the Cottage. At night, feel free to enjoy a fire in the fire pit (bring your own wood). And if you're feeling adventurous, try out our outdoor shower.
We are located in the beloved Montford Neighborhood, a National Register Historic District on the edge of Downtown Asheville. This eclectic neighborhood consists of a blend of beautiful, historic homes as well as newer modern and craftsman-style homes, along with several neighborhood businesses. This is a great community to go for a stroll or bike ride, or for a walk into Downtown. We are steps away from the Reed Creek Greenway, which is a great place to go for a run or bike ride. The Creek and Greenway run along the back of our Property!
Our Cottage is perfect for up to 3 people that want to enjoy all of the amenities of Downtown Asheville, while having their own space to relax, enjoy a unique experience and have the convenience to cook their own meals. Explore the neighborhood or take a stroll into Downtown. At Zen Cottage, everything you could want from your Asheville stay is so convenient and close by!
Guests should note the following prior to booking:
- Parking is free, but on-street only and we kindly request that you do not park directly in front of the house. Please be prepared to walk a block or two to your car. Specific parking instructions will be provided 2 days before check-in.
- The friendly homeowners live on site and you may hear them occasionally or their sweet dog, Smokey. Please do not climb the stairs to the deck outside.
- The homeowners, their guests and other Tenants may use the outside area and fire pit area by the creek. We will respect your privacy and we ask that all guests please respect the privacy of others at our home and property, including the Tenants of the cabana and basement Studio. Please reserve use of the outdoor area between the hours of 8 AM & 9 PM.
- We provide all of the essentials for a comfortable stay including bedding, towels, soaps, shampoo, conditioner, dishes, cooking utensils and basic spices.
- Mid-stay cleanings may be required, depending on the length of the stay. Tenants will pay our professional cleaning partners directly for any mid-stay cleanings.
- Guests will have access to our laundry machines, located in the utility room of our basement. Please be aware that this amenity is shared with the Owners and other guests.
