The property is situated on the private South Snowdon Wharf Estate, on the site of the old slate wharves which the Ffestiniog Railway was built to serve, and has been upgraded and modernised to a very good standard. This makes a great base for exploring the area. Criccieth, with its castle, the Italianate village of Portmeirion and pretty Beddgelert are nearby. Visit Blaenau Ffestiniog, the adventure capital of North Wales, with the largest zip wire zone in the world, Bounce Below underground trampolining in a slate cavern, and the Stiniog downhill bike trails. Shop 200 yards, restaurant/pub 100 yards.
