Other Things to Note
What is the Packing House?
The Anaheim Packing House is a favorite place among locals and tourists and it's always a blast to visit. This is basically a building that functions as a food court--there are so many different vendors that, no matter what you're craving, you're sure to find something you like. I love how there's such a diverse availability of cuisines all under one roof.
The Packing House is family friendly. You will always see a lot of families inside the building, hanging out or just grabbing a bite to eat.
Some recommendations to eat at the Packing House:
The Kroft: Try their legendary poutine. They're downstairs. They feature market-inspired sandwiches and variations of poutine--Canadian-French specialty fries topped with fresh cheese curds, homemade gravies and signature toppings. The fries from this place are absolutely phenomenal because they're made from hand-cut potatoes that are double fried to perfection. Those fries are seriously one of the bests I've ever had; they taste so fresh and The Kroft doesn't skimp when it comes to portion size, flavors and toppings. You definitely get your money's worth. You could order those poutines as a meal or share it with a friend if you want to try stuff from other vendors. I was a huge fan of "Chicken Pot Pie" and "Fried Chicken" poutines are savory and flavorful.
Popbar: This is a great dessert/snack option--especially when it's hot outside--because it's basically gelato, sorbet or yogurt on a stick. Think of your favorite childhood treat redefined. You get to choose your flavor, as well as the dippings and toppings.
The Chippy Fish & Grill: There is nothing but good things about this place, especially if you're a huge fan of fish and chips. This fish grill prides itself on high-quality ingredients and fresh fish. Of course, the specialty is the fish and chips, featuring a crisp, golden brown crust and lemon, malt vinegar and homemade tartar sauce for extra flavor.Georgia's: Real deal Southern-style comfort food. Try the fried chicken as well as the BBQ pork ribs. You also can't go wrong with soul-smothered chicken and some of those Brazilian-fusion entrees.
The Iron Press: This place is known for its sweet and savory waffle sandwiches with dozens of beers on tap. Check out their featured waffle desserts.
Hans' Homemade Ice Cream: All of the ice cream is handcrafted onsite at the original Santa Ana store. There are few flavors that you must try. Cookies & Cream, Pecan Praline, and "Maple Bacon. Yum!
Black Sheep Grilled Cheese Bar: If you love all things grilled cheese, you need to go to Black Sheep because it's a grilled cheese bar! Comparing other units in the area? Here are top 10 Reasons why you should at the Kraemer Building:
1) Free Parking for all your cars.2) Stay in a beautiful historic building.3) Big view of the fireworks every evening from your window.4) Free directv including ESPN. 5) Fast wifi.6) Across the street from Vons supermarket and CVS drugstore.7) Walk to the hip Packing House.8) Spacious units9) Less than 3 miles to Disneyland.10) Over 2 dozen food options within walking distance.
