Since Republique has so many metro lines, you can basically go anywhere in Paris directly with no metro change. As an example, the Eiffel Tower, which is on the other side of Paris, is only twenty minutes away with line 9. And you can also walk to very center of Paris, Le Châtelet, in 15 minutes.
The area is safe and residential. The oldest Paris open-air market, Le Marché des Enfants Rouges, which is open daily except on Mondays, is two blocks away.
There is a wide range of restaurants and a number of supermarkets in the immediate neighborhood and the trendy Rue de Bretagne is at your doorstep.
